If you are insured in the Netherlands, the costs will be reimbursed to the General Practitioner, because this is covered by the basic package. Tourists and patients who cannot prove that they are insured or do not have a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) must pay directly to the General Practitioner (by card). They can claim the costs from their health insurer.

Do you have questions about your invoice? Mail to facturen@hknhuisartsen.nl and state the invoice and debtor number.

Practical information about your bill

Depending on your situation, you will receive a:

  1. Telephone advice. You will receive an explanation and telephone advice from the triagist, (checked afterwards by the GP). This is also called a triage consultation .
  2. Consultation. The triage nurse will make an appointment for you with the General Practitioner. A general practitioner will examine you there.
  3. Telephone consultation. The GP will call you back. This is also called a digital consultation .
  4. Visitors. The GP will visit you at home. A visit is only possible if you cannot come to the General Practitioner for medical reasons.

Please note: at the General Practitioner you can only pay by card!

I am insured, but I still received an invoice. How is that possible?

When contacting the General Practitioner, you will need to provide your insurance details. Your visit will be declared to your health insurer. If the health insurer informs us that the information is incorrect and we cannot retrieve the correct information, you will receive a personal bill. You can then forward the bill to your health insurer yourself or pay the bill yourself.

If you still have questions, you can contact our financial administration via facturen@hknhuisartsen.nl
