Through this network, they can consult medical data about their patients in each other&#8217;s systems \u2013 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The National Exchange Point has been specially developed and secured for this purpose. The National Exchange Point is not a database, no medical data is stored in it. That data only remains in the files at the GP and pharmacy. There, other healthcare providers can view the most important information via the National Exchange Point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The National Exchange Point is divided into<strong>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.volgjezorg.nl\/regionaal\">regions<\/a>.<\/strong>\u00a0Your healthcare providers can only share and view your medical data within your region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you&nbsp;give <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.volgjezorg.nl\/toestemming\">permission<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;, your GP and pharmacies will register your citizen service number (BSN) with the referral index of the National Exchange Point. If you visit another healthcare provider, they can use your BSN to search the referral index: which healthcare providers share which medical information about you?
